The Storage and Flow of Bulk Solids – A Practical Approach

October 5, 2026

$845 per person; $765 team rate

Live at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago O'Hare

13 hours

This introductory course covers the storage and flow of bulk solids, common flow problems, and their solutions. Methods to avoid flow stoppage, segregation, and rat-holing will be examined. Flow testing and the basics of bin and feeder design will also be discussed. This course is intended for all levels of personnel including managers, engineers, scientists, operators, and crafts people.

During this course, you will:

  • Learn how to design effective bins, hoppers, feeders, silos, and outlets
  • Examine flow patterns and how the whole system is affected when they go wrong
  • Gain an understanding of how best to improve the flow of materials in bins and feeders through proper design and calculations of critical bin dimensions
  • Predict the flow performance of various materials through your bins and feeders

Instructors: Joseph Marinelli and Scott Miller

After September 4, prices will increase to $895 per person, or $815 for each member of a team.
