Compressed Gas Safety: Code Compliance and Best Practices

Coming 2026

7 hours

This course focuses on the rules and regulations for safely handling compressed gas cylinders. The course focuses on minimizing the risks associated with cylinders, from receiving to storage to use. It is intended for both new personnel to acquaint them with the issues and experienced personnel to identify problem practices and concerns.

During this course, you will:

  • Examine applicable safety codes and guidelines, including OSHA, DOT, CGA P-1, and NFPA 55
  • Develop good engineering practices to improve the safety of your compressed gas handling, installations, and operations
  • Understand the balance between use requirements and safety
  • Assess options for flexible use while maintaining safe operation
  • Review the requirements for handling acetylene, oxygen, and hydrogen
