Compressed Gas Piping for Research Operations

Coming Winter 2024

8 hours

This course provides a working knowledge of how to design, evaluate, and install compressed gas piping systems. During the course you will explore the major considerations involved in compressed gas systems and learn how to adapt Good Engineering Practices to improve the safety and effectiveness of your compressed gas piping installations and operations. Designed for research personnel, it is intended for both new and experienced personnel.

During this course, you will:

  • Gain an understanding of compressed gas piping
  • Review the codes governing compressed gas piping installations
  • Discuss the safety aspects and Maximum Allowable Quantities (MAQs) of compressed gas piping
  • Examine design information used to assess and evaluate existing or proposed piping installations
  • Evaluate Good Engineering Practices for piping gases safely, including materials of construction, connections, sealants, selection, and leak testing
